Tuesday 9 June 2009 – Two forest fire occur at Muara-Tutong Highway near Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) female residential college. The fire which occur around 1:30pm in the afternoon causes thick smoke which can be seen as far as the Giant Hypermarket in Rimba.

The Brunei Fire and Rescue Department sent Light Pumper no.9 (LP9)from Lambak Kanan fire rescue station ( to the forest fire which occur behind the UBD female residential college. As there are little water supply at that area, the department requested water supply support from the Public Works Department which sent four water tankers to support the firefighters.
Meanwhile at the other side of the fire site another forest fire occur. A team of firefighter from Berakas Fire Rescue station in four fire engines arrived to extinguish the fire. The fire occurs next to the forest fire site which occur last April. The fire appliances involved are Water Tanker no.6, Water Tender Hydraulic Platform no.1 (WRHP1) and supported by Multi Purpose Vehicle no.4 (MPV4) and Rescue Tender no.4 (RT4)

Also present at the scene was the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) Traffic Department which helps in controlling the traffic flow.
