Snake catching call at UBD residential college

Three firefighters from Berakas Fire and Rescue Station lead by ABK Tonny managed to caught a snake at the UBD male residential college on Monday (8 February 2010). According to Tan, the student who contacted the Fire and Rescue Department said “I saw the Cobra moving around the M1 residential college block lobby and then it moves to the drain to hid after it heard movements and I contacted the fire and rescue department” .

The firefighters struggled for 5 minutes to catch the snake as it refuse to move away to the centre of the drain which was inaccessible to the firefighters, the firefighters had to used the animal catcher and snake catching hook to forced the snake out from the drain. Also present to supervise the catching are the UBD student fire marshal personnel.
