Early morning fire destroy Jalan Sungai Pandan House

11 June 2011 Saturday - A twin house at Jalan Sungai Pandan, Kuala Belait was destroyed in a Saturday (11 June 2011) early morning fire. The fire which caused around Satruday early morning at 1:58am (Saturday 11 June 2011). The fire caused half of the twin house are destroyed while the other half suffered major damage. This was enclosed by Acting ASFR Awamg Taha bin Bakar, Belait Operation B command Public Relation Officer.

The fire fighters from Belait Fire Station can be seen working around the clock from 1am until 10am (Saturday 11 June 2011) to extinguish and dampening the charred remain of the house. A badly burned car can be seen under the rubble while another car suffered major damage as a result of the fire. Also present at the incident site were officials and personnel from Belait Department of Electrical Services who are at the site to check the area electric cables and Belait Police Station who help to direct eh traffic and guarding the incident site.

An eyewitness who live at the area said “The fire started around 1am (Early Morning of Saturday). It started from the right side of the twin houses. Fortunately few hours before the fire occur strong wind and heavy rain occurred at Belait coastal area so it slows down the fire from spreading to other houses at the area”
