Donation handover for Tutong Disaster

In order to ease the burden of flood and landslide victims, a donation handover was held this afternoon (5 February 2014, Wednesday). The ceremony was held at Lamunin Fire Station which is also the Incident Command Post  (ICP) for Tutong flood and landslide.

Present as guest of honour was Awang Wardi bin Hj.Mohammad Ali, Tutong District Officer who also head of Tutong District Disaster Management Comittee (DDMC). Also present was Legislative council members, DDMC and Lamunin ICP personnel as well as donors.

In his remark Awang Wardi stated that this year flood and landslide are worst compared to 2009, nearly 900 houses are flooded. As a challenge to the DDMC personnel the electricity and communication sub station are flooded forcing it to be shut down and personnel had to rely on walkie talkies.

Awang Wardi then receive handful of donation which was donated to the Tutong District Office fund from corporate companies as well as Tutong District companies and civilians. The ceremony concluded with group photo and visiting the mini exhibition on ICP activities.
