FRD preps for National Day Celebration

As national day celebration mood is in the air, various agencies are preparing themselves for the big event. This includes the Brunei Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) which will be on duty along other safety and security agencies during the event.

Since the rehearsal the FRD officer and personnel especially officers and personnel of Operational C command, Women Operation Unit and Special Squad can be seen preparing themselves for the big event. This include setting up of the Forward Command Post (FCP) at the venue. During the rehearsal and the event the FCP will play vital role in providing coordination of personnel, equipment and fire engines as well as with other agencies as well. The FCP capability had also been tested during the recent Emergency Drill for the celebration. Firefighters also will be deployed at strategic areas around the venue to provide emergency assistance to the participants as well as guests and visitors.

Meanwhile,  beside standing by for the event, the FRD officers and personnel will also joining the mass parade. In the mass parade section the parade will consists of FRD band, FRD officers, Operational personnel, specialists teams such as Special Squad, Hazardous Material (HAZMAT), Water rescue and Search and Rescue (SAR). Beside officers and personnel the FRD also will showcase its land and sea capability during the mobile parade which will be participated by specialist vehicles and fire engines from Operational C command, SPARK Sungai Liang, Diving Unit, Women Operation Unit and Muara Fire Station.
