Toyota Hilux Multi Purpose Vehicle no.13 (MPV13)

Brunei Fire and Rescue Department (BFRD) commissioned its first Toyota Hilux Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) earlier this year. This first Toyota Hilux carries the fleet number Multi Purpose Vehicle no.13 (MPV13). Currently stationed at the BFRD Headquarters, Berakas for carrying BFRD senior officers to incident sites as well as official duties.

2010 Ford Ranger Multi Purpose Vehicle no.11 (MPV11)

Brunei Fire and Rescue Department (2010) Ford Ranger Multi Purpose Vehicle no.11 (MPV11). This appliance currently on trial and based at Operational E Command Tutong District.

Mitsubishi L200 Multi Purpose Vehicle no.3 (MPV.3)

Brunei Fire and Rescue Department (BFRD) Mitsubishi L200 Multi Purpose Vehicle no.3 (MPV3). This appliance currently stationed at Beribi Fire and Rescue Station. New striping scheme and additional decals had been added to this appliance including the lightbar. This appliance carry portable pump and fire hoses for initial firefighting.

In conjunction with the UBD 21st Convocation Ceremony Brunei Fire and Rescue Department along with other emergency services are on standby at the Internation Convention Centre, Berakas. BFRD stationed WRL11 and FCP-01 along with other support vehicles in providing fire prevention support.

Also present to supervise and coordinate the standby was SFR Ranee bin Hj.Othman from the C operational Command.

Mitsubishi L200 Multi Purpose Vehicle no.4 (MPV4)

Brunei Fire and Rescue Department (BFRD) Mitsubishi L200 Multi Purpose Vehicle no.4 (MPV4). Currently this appliance is operated by the Women Operational Unit based at their own Berakas Fire and Rescue Station. It is used to carry firefighting and rescue equipment plus it is also used as hose laying appliance.

Three more appliances used by the Women Operational Unit

The Brunei Fire And Rescue Department formed its first Women Operational Unit which act as the 2nd responder in 2006. The women operational unit currently stationed at their fire station just beside the Berakas Fire and Rescue Station and the Special Squad Unit building. Currently they operated the following appliances:

• Bucher Duro/Comfort Delgro Engineering Light Fire Attack Vehicle (LFAV) which is used as second responder appliance. This appliance carry 50m water, hydraulic rescue equipment and fire hoses c/w branches.
• Mercedes Benz Forward Command Post no.1 (FCP-01) which will be called out at major operations and will act as mobile coordination centre.
• Mitsubishi Canter Mobile Flood Light no.1 (MFL-01) which will be used in providing lighting support in night operation.
• Mitsubishi L200 Multi Purpose Vehicle no.4 (MPV4) which is used to carry firefighting equipment to rugged areas or as personnel carrier
• Mitsubishi Pajero Common Car ex- Rescue Tender no.4 used as personnel carrier (although sometimes used by the neighboring Berakas Fire and Rescue Station.
  

Ford Ranger Multi Purpose Vehicle no.9 (MPV9)

Brunei Fire and Rescue Department (BFRD) Ford Ranger Multi Purpose Vehicle no.9 (MPV9) currently stationed at Sg.Kebun Fire and Rescue Station. This appliance is used to carry fire equipment and hoses. Sometimes it is fitted with the Denmark made Firexpress Pump Driven Unit (PDU) which is used for minor firefighting operations such as rubbish fire or grass fire.

Brunei Fire and Rescue Department (BFRD) Mitsubishi L200 Multi Purpose Vehicle no.1 (MPV1). This appliance was donated by GHK Motors during the 1998 Haze Crisis. Currently this appliance is stationed at Seria Fire and Rescue Station as equipment carrier and hose laying appliance.

Ford Ranger Multi Purpose Vehicle no.7 (MPV7)

Brunei Fire and Rescue Department 2005 Ford Ranger Multi Purpose Vehicle no.7 (MPV7) stationed in Bangar Fire and Rescue Station. This appliance role is to carry firefighting and rescue equipment to areas which are no accessible for major fire appliances especially in Temburong District rugged terrain areas.

Brunei Fire and Rescue Department (BFRD) Operational "F" Command Mitsubishi L200 Multi Purpose Vehicle NO2 (MPV2) seen at work during the 20 January Brunei and Muara worst flood. The MPVs in the BFRD fleet are used to carry equipment such as hoses, pump and other goods to incident site. It is also used to transport senior officers to rugged areas and also incident sites.

Brunei Fire and Rescue Department (BFRD) 2005 Ford Ranger Multi Purpose Vehicle no.6 (MPV6). This appliances is quite useful for initial firefighting at Belait District rural areas or areas where major appliances can't gain access. However, some MPV Firexpress Pump Driven Unit (PDU) has been removed and transfered to other MPVs. The MPVs also used to transport senior district fire officer to incident site or official function (if needed). Currently stationed at Belait District on rotational basis (from station to station).
