A car caught fire at the Tungku traffic light junction near
the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) new headquarters construction site recently (18 March 2013, Monday). The fire
occurred around 7pm when the car driver spotted smoke rising from the car
bonnet. Upon realizing the danger the driver quickly pulled over and switching
off the engine to prevent major fire outbreak. A team of firefighters in two
fire engines from Beribi Fire Station rushed to the scene and managed to
extinguish the fire in few minutes time. The fire also caused minor congestion
as the slip road heading to Katok had to be closed for several minutes due to
the incident.
