To ensure the shoppers and visitors safety during this festive season the Fire Prevention Section, Tutong Operational E command last Wednesday (31 July 2013, Wednesday) conduct a fire safety inspection at premises in Tutong Town.

The team was led by Deputy Station Officer (DSO) Bahrin, among the main highlight of the inspection was two fireworks shops at Petani Mall near Tutong Town. At the fireworks shops they inspected the relevant permit documents as well as the safety aspects such as fire extinguishers, safety signage, entry and exit access as well as the shop width spaces.

From the fireworks shops they also inspect the nearby shops where they provide advice to the shop and security personnel on proper product display and not to block access and exit doors and routes.

The Operation E fire prevention section also advices the public especially Tutong residents to be cautious when igniting fireworks especially at residential areas and forested areas as if it ignited carelessly the fallen ember will possibly dropped and caused unwanted incident such as fire. Beside fireworks safety they also advise homeowners to ensure the safety of their electrical appliances and connection such as decorative lights to prevent overloading or short circuit.
