Brunei Fire and Rescue Department (BFRD) recently (Thursday 8 March 2012) held a thanksgiving prayer (Doa Kesyukuran) in conjunction with its 52nd anniversary celebration which celebrated by BFRD nationwide every 9 March 2012.
Present as guest of honour to the prayer was Yang Mulia Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Majid bin Mangarshah, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Also present was deputy permanent secretaries and senior officers of the minister as well as BFRD officers and staffs. The event was held at the Lambak Kanan Housing mosque.
The event started with the mass Maghrib prayer and the recital of the thanksgiving prayer which prays for the safety and security of all BFRD personnel during their line of duty. The event then continues with the mass recital of Yaasiin and tahlil followed by mass Isya’ prayer.
The event then concluded with the presentation of the “waqaf” contribution consist of three units of racks to the Imam of Lambak Kanan Mosque. The racks will be used by the mosque to store the Quran, religious books as well as other utensils used at the mosque.
With the thanksgiving prayer it marks the starting of activities for the BFRD 52nd celebration. Various events and activities had been lined up for the BFRD personnel as well as public such as the emergency response demonstration at the four districts on 12 March, endurance and skill competition as well as activities on public and road safety awareness.
