Landslip in Sungai Liang and Sungai Paku

Due to the heavy rain at nationwide last Friday (2 November 2012) and early morning of Saturday (3 November 2012), two separate landslip occurred at Sungai Liang and near the Sungai Paku sand quarry today (3 November 2012, Saturday).

At Sungai Liang area a landslip occurred near the entrance of the Tionghua Cemetery, according to the villagers lived nearby the landslip occurred during the heavy rain which occurred at Belait District for nearly 5 hours. The landslip caused sand to covered the main road. To prevent unnecessary incidents contractors are deployed to conduct cleanup operation and warning signs are also placed at the site to slow down road users.

Several meters from the first site, another landslip occurred near the Sungai Paku sand quarry. Fortunately the landslip did not affect the main road but ended and covered the main drain.
