Accidents at Belait and Tutong

Due to the heavy rainfall across the nation which occurred since early morning of Tuesday (4 December 2012, Tuesday) several accidents occurred at the highways at Belait and Tutong District respectively.

In the first accident at Lumut Bypass, Belait near the Badas Water Treatment entrance road an accident involving a station wagon car and a van occurred. The accident which occrued around 6:45am saw both vehicles were heading to Seria Town when the station wagon lose control at the curve and crashed to the van before ended at the safety barrier. Both vehicle suffered slight damage and no injuries are reported.

Meanwhile few minutes later another accident occurred at the Bukit Beruang U-Turn at the Tutong-Muara Highway. The accident which occurred around 7:30am saw the car lose control and crashed into the safety barrier. The impact caused the car suffered major damage on the engine section thus causing minor oil spill. A team of firefighters with Water Tender Ladder no.2 (WRL2) from Tutong Fire Station rushed to the scene to conduct cleanup operation at the site. Minor traffic congestion also occurred due to the accident. The driver and passenger managed to escaped unhurt from the accident.
