A forest fire occurred last Sunday (4 August 2013,
Sunday) at the Sungai Beluhor Bukit
Puan Village
near Luagan Lalak Recreational
Park
According to a road users who contacted the Fire Rescue
Department (FRD) said “I called the FRD around 4:30pm as the fire had affected
and destroyed wide plot of forest. Although there are several passer by but
they just ignored it”
A team of four firefighters and a Light Pumper (LP) from Labi Fire
Station the arrived at the scene to put out the fire. The fire was put under
control in several minutes. The fire occurred just two days after nearby forest
area was burned in similar incident last Friday (2 August 2013, Friday).
According to villagers the area is fire prone especially during hot and dry
weather.
