A short circuit incident occurred last Thursday (7 August
2013) at the Islamic Da’wah Cente (PDI) building in Pulaie. The
incident which occurred around 9am caused staffs and visitors at the building
evacuating themselves due to the smoke rising from the building switch room.
A team of firefighters in two fire engines from Berakas Fire
Station and Women Operation Unit arrived at the scene to investigate the smoke.
Also present was the Department of Electrical Services (DES) and their
contractors who conduct brief check on the incident.
Upon investigation by the firefighters and DES investigators
they found out the smoke comes from one of the switchbox in the switchbox room.
As they pry open the switchbox they found out that a short circuit occurred by
a burnt mouse which is suspected to bite the cables before the incident
occurred.
