Bee disposal in Berakas

A bee disposal operation was held at two houses house in Berakas last Monday (19 August 2013). The operation which took several hours started around 4pm saw the involvement of a team of firefighters and a fire engine from nearby Berakas Fire Station after they receive emergency call from the house owner. They had to don special protective suit to dispose the bee hive which was later destroyed by using fire torch. Such operation is one of the typical humanitarian calls which are attended by the fire rescue department in order to ensure the public safety.
