Bushfire in Lumut

A major bushfire occurred at Jalan Pantai Lumut, Lumut Village last Thursday (29 August 2013). The fire which occurred around 12 afternoon affected several hectares of the bushes. However several minutes later the blaze turned into major inferno after windy weather caused the fire to spread to the used tires which is used by the village fisherman. Thus the inferno caused thick black smoke rise at the area and curious villagers inspect the area for fear of house fire. A team of firefighters and fire engines from Sungai Liang fire station then arrived at the scene to control and extinguish the blaze. They also had to ensure the tires fire fully extinguished fore fear of environment impact if it reignites.
